A pipe cracks in the wall behind the bathroom and you hear water running at midnight. The water heater valve fails and the utility room starts filling up. A toilet seal gives out and sewage backs up into the hall. These are not situations you schedule around. You need a plumber now, and you need one who picks up the phone.
Biermann Plumbing has been handling urgent plumbing calls for homeowners and property managers across Western Massachusetts since 1983. Our existing customers get 24/7 emergency dispatch. We answer the call, triage the situation over the phone, and send a fully equipped technician directly to the property. New customers can call us during regular hours and we move quickly to get a tech out.
Every emergency repair comes with the same 1-year labor warranty as any other job we do. Licensed under MA Master Plumber #16160 and CT Master Plumber #PLM.0288365-P1.
If any of these are happening in your home or building right now, shut off the water and call us.
A ruptured supply line can dump dozens of gallons per minute into a wall cavity, floor joist bay, or finished living space before you can find the shutoff. We carry the fittings and pipe stock for copper, PEX, CPVC, and steel lines so repairs can happen on the first visit. First step: find your main shutoff valve and turn it off the moment you suspect a burst pipe.
Sewage backing up through a floor drain or toilet is a sanitary emergency. Stop using all water in the building immediately. We diagnose blockages in PVC, ABS, and cast iron sanitary lines and make the emergency repair to restore proper drainage. This type of failure often points to a deeper system issue that we can evaluate once the immediate problem is contained.
A supply line under a kitchen sink, a cracked toilet tank, a failing shutoff valve behind a washing machine. When a fixture failure goes from drip to stream, the cabinet, subfloor, or ceiling below becomes collateral damage fast. We repair and replace failed valves, supply lines, and fixtures on the spot and check the surrounding structure for moisture intrusion.
A tank that ruptures or a pressure relief valve that fails can release 40 to 80 gallons of scalding water in minutes. Tankless units can fail too, and a failed gas supply to your water heater needs attention before it is a safety hazard. We troubleshoot, repair, and replace tank and tankless water heaters from A.O. Smith, Bradford White, Rheem, and Navien on emergency calls.
A failed sump pump during a spring rainstorm will flood a finished basement in hours. A seized ejector pump means no toilet use in the lower level of your home. We service and replace sump pumps, sewage ejector pumps, and condensate pumps. If your pump failed and water is rising, call immediately. Keeping a battery backup sump pump is the best insurance against this scenario.
If you smell gas near a water heater, boiler, or other gas-fed plumbing appliance, leave the building immediately and call your gas utility before calling us. Once the utility has confirmed safety, we can assess and repair the gas piping. We run and repair gas lines for water heaters, boilers, and appliances across Western MA under proper licensing and inspection.
New customers: call during business hours.

New customers are welcome to call during business hours: Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm. We will get a technician to you as quickly as our schedule allows. For a true middle-of-the-night emergency before you have established a relationship with us, you may need to contact another licensed plumber to stop active damage. Once you become an established customer, you gain access to our priority emergency line.
The best time to find a plumber is before you need one. Call us for a free service consultation and we will review your plumbing system, identify any concerns, and get you set up as a current customer. That way, the next emergency call goes straight to the front of the line.
A burst pipe in a single-family home is a family problem. The same failure in a 40-unit apartment building is a property management crisis: displaced tenants, insurance calls, remediation crews, and paperwork, all before the pipe is even fixed.
Property managers and facility directors who work with Biermann as an ongoing service relationship get a team that already knows their buildings. Our technicians carry commercial-grade parts: Watts valves, Zurn floor drains, Josam traps, JR Smith drains. We document the repair fully for your maintenance logs. We are experienced in occupied spaces, which means we work around tenants, keep the area contained, and minimize disruption to the people living and working in the building.
We serve apartment complexes, condo associations, dental and medical offices, banks, retail spaces, and municipal buildings across Hampden, Hampshire, and Berkshire counties, plus Enfield and Suffield, Connecticut. If you manage multiple properties and you want one reliable plumbing partner for service, repairs, and emergencies, talk to us about an ongoing service arrangement.
Yes. We provide emergency plumbing response for plumbing failures that cannot wait, including burst pipes, major leaks, water heater failures, and sewer backups. Our 24/7 emergency line is available to existing customers. New customers are welcome to call during our regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, and we will get you scheduled as quickly as possible.
Our around-the-clock emergency dispatch is reserved for existing customers. This is intentional. We maintain 24/7 availability for the homes and buildings we already know and service, so our techs can respond quickly without having to gather information about unfamiliar systems at 2am. If you are not yet a customer, call us during business hours and we can often get you in quickly. For future emergencies, becoming an established customer is the best way to secure priority response.
For existing customers, our goal is to dispatch a technician as fast as possible. We assess the situation over the phone, confirm the location, and send a fully equipped truck directly to your property. Response time depends on current call volume and distance, but we treat every emergency call as urgent. When you call, tell us the nature of the problem so we can triage and dispatch appropriately.
A plumbing emergency is any situation where water, gas, or sewage is actively threatening your property or your safety. This includes burst or cracked water pipes, major leaks at fixtures or supply lines, sewer or drain backups causing overflow, water heater failure causing flooding or a gas hazard, pump failures leading to basement flooding, and suspected gas leaks at plumbing appliances. If water or sewage is actively running somewhere it should not be, that is an emergency.
Shut off the water supply as close to the problem as possible, or shut off the main if you cannot isolate it. Turn off your water heater if it is flooded or the tank has failed. If you smell gas, leave the building immediately and call your gas utility before calling us. Move valuables and electronics out of the affected area, and take photos of the damage for your insurance if it is safe to do so. Do not try to repair burst pipes yourself. Our technician will assess and repair when they arrive.
Call us at (413) 547-2970 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm) and we will do everything we can to get a technician to you. For after-hours situations, you may need to contact another licensed plumber as a temporary measure. The best way to protect yourself for future emergencies is to become an established Biermann customer now. Ask about our free service consultation when you call.
